Berlin (Season 1)

Berlin (Berlín, 2023) is a Spanish crime series on Netflix you can watch online on iFILM. A spin-off built around the most polarising character from Money Heist, it drops back in time to follow Andrés de Fonollosa — Pedro Alonso — before the red jumpsuits, before the Mint, when he was just a very elegant thief with very expensive tastes.

The job is Paris. Berlin pulls together a crew of six: mathematician Damián (Tristán Ulloa), safecracker Keila (Michelle Jenner), young hothead Roi (Julio Peña) and a few others, each useful, each complicated. The target is a private jewellery collection worth 44 million euros and the window is a single night. The complication, as always with Berlin, is that he falls in love right in the middle of it.

Produced by Vancouver Media and shot in Paris and Spain, the first — and so far only — season runs eight episodes and is complete. The show shifts the register from heist thriller to something closer to a caper with real romantic weight. Stream Berlin (2023) online on iFILM.
