Synopsis
Monica and Friends: Lessons (Turma da Mônica: Lições, 2021) is a Brazilian family film you can watch online on iFILM. It picks up after Turma da Mônica: Laços and brings to the screen Mauricio de Sousa's beloved comics, characters nearly every kid in Brazil grew up with. At its heart are four classmates: Mônica, Jimmy Five, Maggy and Smudge.
This time a bit of schoolyard mischief turns into a real mistake, and the whole gang has to face the fallout together. Running alongside that is something quieter — the four are inching out of childhood toward their teens. Interests shift, small grudges surface, and a friendship that always felt unbreakable gets tested for the first time. Giulia Benite, Kevin Vechiatto, Laura Rauseo and Gabriel Moreira play the young leads.
Director Daniel Rezende refuses to talk down to his audience. Under the bright, comic-book surface sits an honest story about growing up and owning your choices.
