Tangled

Tangled (2001) is a psychological thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director Jay Lowi opens after the fact — a young man, beaten and barely coherent, stumbling down an empty road. The story builds backward from there.

David (Shawn Hatosy) spent years as Jenny's (Rachel Leigh Cook) closest friend, betting on patience over confession. Things finally shift — then Alan walks back into both their lives. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays Alan as someone whose charm and volatility arrive in the same breath, which is exactly right. Lorraine Bracco plays the detective working the case in the present, while the past assembles in pieces.

The Canadian-American production uses its nonlinear structure to keep the obvious question — who ends up on that road — open longer than you'd expect. Rhys Meyers is the reason to stay with it. Stream Tangled (2001) online on iFILM.
