Synopsis
Battle of the Warriors (2006) is a Chinese war epic you can watch online on iFILM. The year is 370 B.C., deep in the Warring States era, and a hundred-thousand-strong Zhao army is marching on the tiny walled city of Liang.
On paper the defenders are finished: four thousand civilians against a professional military machine. So their ruler hires Ge Li, a lone strategist from the Mohist order — a school that preached defense and rejected wars of conquest. Andy Lau plays him as a quiet outsider who out-engineers the siege, reworks the city's walls and traps, and irritates the very nobles who paid for his help.
Director Jacob Cheung cares more about the mechanics of defense and the cost of idealism than about flashy duels. Fan Bingbing and Korea's Ahn Sung-ki round out the cast, and the story comes from the Japanese manga Bokko. Stream Battle of the Warriors online on iFILM.
