Synopsis
A Young Doctor's Notebook (2012) is a British comedy-drama series you can watch online on iFILM, based on Mikhail Bulgakov's early short fiction. Daniel Radcliffe plays the young Dr. Bomgard, a fresh medical school graduate dropped into a snow-buried Russian village as its only physician during the revolutionary period. John Hamm plays the same man decades later.
The two versions of Bomgard run in parallel throughout: one nervous and idealistic, the other worn down and addicted to morphine, watching a younger self he barely recognizes. Village patients distrust medicine entirely, emergencies arrive without warning, and there are no colleagues to call. Two seasons of four episodes each, aired in 2012 and 2013.
