Synopsis
Midnight in Saint Petersburg (1996) is a British television spy thriller available to watch online on iFILM. Michael Caine returns as Harry Palmer — the working-class British agent he first played in The Ipcress File in 1965 — now running a private investigation firm in Moscow alongside a former KGB colonel and an ex-CIA operative. The Cold War ended. The distrust did not.
Their new assignment: find roughly a kilogram of weapons-grade plutonium lifted from the Russian government by a client who refuses to identify themselves. Director Douglas Jackson keeps pace tight within the TV-movie format; Michael Gambon brings his particular brand of opaque menace to a key supporting role, and Jason Connery rounds out the core team.
