Synopsis

The Sum of All Fears (2002) is a political thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director Phil Alden Robinson adapts Tom Clancy's novel, putting a young CIA analyst named Jack Ryan at the center of a crisis that edges two nuclear powers toward the unthinkable.

Ben Affleck plays Ryan — not the seasoned operative from earlier films but a desk analyst pulled into the field before he's ready. Morgan Freeman is CIA director Bill Cabot, the one man who might be able to stop the clock. The fuse is an Israeli nuclear device lost over the Golan Heights back in 1973: it passes through arms dealers and Austrian neo-fascists before someone decides to use it on American soil. When a city goes up in a mushroom cloud, Washington and Moscow both reach for their arsenals.

James Cromwell, Liev Schreiber, and Bridget Moynahan round out the cast in this US-Germany-Canada co-production. It's less about the bomb itself and more about how fast rational decision-making collapses under panic and misinformation. Stream The Sum of All Fears online on iFILM.
