Synopsis
Lady Chatterley (2006) is a French drama by Pascale Ferran that you can watch online on iFILM, drawn from D.H. Lawrence's once-banned novel. Constance is married to Sir Clifford, an aristocrat the war sent home paralysed. Duty keeps her at his side; her body keeps asking for more.
Clifford, sensing his wife wither, gives her unexpected permission to find intimacy elsewhere. Into that gap walks Parkin, the estate's gamekeeper — quiet, plain-spoken, a man from another class entirely. Marina Hands plays Constance with an unhurried, physical honesty, and Ferran lets the film run nearly three hours, the camera learning to breathe with the rain, the garden and the skin.
What's striking is how Ferran strips the scandal out of a scandalous book. Left behind is a patient study of a woman feeling alive again. The film swept five César Awards, Best Film among them. Made for viewers who want sensual cinema with no rush to it. Stream Lady Chatterley (2006) online on iFILM.
