Demons

Demons (Dèmoni, 1985) is a Lamberto Bava horror film you can watch online on iFILM. A masked stranger hands out tickets to a movie premiere in the West Berlin subway, and not one of the guests will make it home.

Cheryl and her friend turn up at the Metropol, a freshly restored cinema, for the free screening. In the lobby sits a mannequin wearing a demon mask, and one woman tries it on for a laugh, scratching her cheek on its sharp edge. Up on screen, a character recites a Nostradamus prophecy: whoever wears the mask becomes a demon. Her cut swells, her flesh splits, and the locked auditorium becomes a slaughterhouse as the infected tear through everyone still breathing.

Dario Argento produced this one, and his fingerprints are everywhere: acid neon lighting, a soundtrack stacked with Billy Idol and Mötley Crüe, gore by the bucket. It's pure carnage with zero subtlety, built for fans of eighties Italian splatter, right down to a guy carving up demons with a katana from a moving motorbike inside the theater.
