Synopsis
The Intruder (2019) is a home-invasion thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Deon Taylor. A young San Francisco couple buys a gorgeous Napa Valley estate, only to discover the previous owner has no intention of actually letting go.
Charlie Peck (Dennis Quaid) claims he's selling up to move closer to his daughter, yet he keeps finding reasons to come back: mowing the lawn, dropping off a gift, checking how the newcomers are settling in. Annie (Meagan Good) feels sorry for the lonely widower at first, while her husband Scott (Michael Ealy) senses something is off. Bit by bit it becomes clear that to Charlie, this house isn't property, it's all he has left, and he won't share it.
Quaid clearly relishes playing a charming psychopath with a pair of hedge shears, and he carries the whole picture on his shoulders. It's a no-frills "neighbor from hell" thriller, an easy pick if you enjoy predictable but brisk genre fun. Stream The Intruder (2019) online on iFILM.
