Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) is a crime comedy with a detective streak you can watch online on iFILM. Petty thief Harry Lockhart bolts from the cops, stumbles into a film audition and somehow lands the part. Just like that, a New York screw-up ends up in Hollywood.

To prep Harry for a sleuth role, the studio pairs him with Perry van Shrike — an actual private eye, gay and unimpressed by everything. At a party Harry runs into Harmony, his high-school crush who shares his obsession with the pulpy Johnny Gossamer mysteries. Then one of Perry's night jobs turns up a corpse, and the three get tangled in a mess of murder, a suicide and buried family secrets that reads like one of those cheap paperbacks.

This was the directing debut of Shane Black, the screenwriter behind Lethal Weapon, and it shows in the snappy banter.
