Touch of Pink

Touch of Pink (2004) is a Canadian-British romantic comedy you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Ian Iqbal Rashid. Jimi Mistry stars as Alim, with Kyle MacLachlan playing an imaginary Cary Grant who lives inside his head.

Alim is a gay Muslim man who left Toronto so he could live openly in London with his boyfriend Giles — and well out of reach of his traditional mother, Nuru. When she shows up unannounced, he goes into damage-control mode with Old Hollywood's most polished leading man whispering tactical advice in his ear. The film is cheerful and surprisingly warm about the tangle of identity and family loyalty; less a coming-out story than a portrait of someone learning to stop performing two versions of himself at once.
