Just One of the Guys

Just One of the Guys (1985) is an American teen romantic comedy directed by Lisa Gottlieb — watch it online on iFILM. Terry cuts her hair, borrows her brother's wardrobe and transfers to a different school as "Terrence." Joyce Hyser plays her as someone who pulls it off completely — new friends, new reputation, new problem. The problem is Rick, a quiet and decent guy played by Clayton Ronner, who becomes her closest friend at the new school. The closer they get, the worse the situation: she's falling for someone who has no idea she exists. At least, not as herself.

The film features William Zabka as the school bully — he had just played a similar role in The Karate Kid the year before, and the casting became part of the film's charm.
