I Am David

He sets off across the continent with a loaf of bread, a compass and a sealed letter addressed to someone in Copenhagen. He does not speak the languages, does not trust strangers, and has almost no frame of reference for ordinary life — food, kindness, colour. Ben Tibber carries the film quietly, and James Caviezel and Joan Plowright each appear at turning points in the journey.
