Synopsis
The Gods Must Be Crazy II (1989) is the slapstick adventure comedy you can watch online on iFILM, with Jamie Uys back behind the camera and bushman Xixo once again pulled far from the calm of the Kalahari.
It starts small. Xixo's two young children climb onto a poachers' truck to play, the engine roars off, and suddenly they're hundreds of miles from home. Their father follows on foot, tracking tire marks across the desert with nothing but patience. Around him, other stories tangle up with his own: a brisk city lawyer and a gruff biologist crash-land together and get stuck in the dunes, while two soldiers from opposing armies keep capturing each other and swapping places as prisoner and guard. Xixo watches all this modern chaos with the same gentle bewilderment as before.
Uys leans hard on physical comedy, sped-up footage, and the gap between Xixo's unhurried world and everyone else's frantic one. N!xau, a real San hunter, anchors it with the same disarming charm he brought to the original. Easygoing family viewing for anyone who likes kind, gimmick-free humor.
