Synopsis
Vicky and Her Mystery (Mystère, 2021) is a French family drama you can watch online on iFILM. Eight-year-old Victoria has gone silent since her mother vanished, so her father Stéphane packs up and moves them to the Cantal mountains, hoping the quiet will help him reach her again.
On a walk through the forest, a shepherd hands the girl a puppy he calls Mystery. The little animal coaxes Victoria back to life — she laughs again, she opens up, she won't be parted from him. The catch is that he grows far too fast and far too strong, and Stéphane slowly realizes the truth: this is no dog, it's a wolf cub. Even as neighbors warn him off, he can't bring himself to take her best friend away. Vincent Elbaz plays the father, with newcomer Shanna Keil as Victoria, alongside Marie Gillain and Tchéky Karyo.
Director Denis Imbert shot it on location in the highlands of Auvergne, and the scenery does as much heavy lifting as the cast.
