Hansel and Gretel

Hansel and Gretel (1988) is an American family fantasy from director Len Talan that you can watch online on iFILM. Two children slip into the forest without permission — and cannot find the way back.

What they find instead is a house made entirely of sweets and gingerbread. It looks like rescue. It is not. Witch Griselda, played by Cloris Leachman, has her own plans for the children, and David Warner rounds out a cast that holds the tension between wonder and menace. Hugh Pollard and Nicola Stapleton play the siblings with the right mix of fear and determination. At 84 minutes, it stays close to the Grimm source without overstaying its welcome.
