Synopsis
Big Fish (2003) — watch online on iFILM, Tim Burton's fantasy drama adapted from Daniel Wallace's 1998 novel. Ewan McGregor and Albert Finney share the role of Edward Bloom, a man whose life has become an elaborate collection of tall tales no one can fully verify.
Will Bloom, played by Billy Crudup, flies home to his dying father and realizes he barely knows the real man — only the stories. A gentle giant tamed at a county fair. A one-eyed witch whose glass eye shows you how you die. A hidden town called Spectre where nobody wears shoes. Jessica Lange plays Will's mother, who has heard these legends so many times she stopped questioning them years ago. Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Buscemi and Danny DeVito fill out the cast of characters who exist somewhere between memory and invention.
Cinematographer Philippe Rousselot and composer Danny Elfman — both longtime Burton collaborators — give the film its particular texture: lush and slightly off-balance, warm and a little unsettling at once. The movie asks whether the gap between a good story and the truth is as wide as it seems. Stream Big Fish (2003) in full online on iFILM.
