Synopsis
Dolphin Tale (2011) is a family drama you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Charles Martin Smith, it begins when shy young Sawyer finds a dolphin tangled in a crab trap on the beach, a meeting that changes both of their lives.
The dolphin, named Winter, loses her tail to the injury and can no longer swim the way she needs to. Sawyer won't give up on her. Alongside Hazel, the daughter of the marine vet, and Dr. Clay Haskett, played by Harry Connick Jr., he searches for a way to save her. A prosthetics engineer played by Morgan Freeman steps in to try building Winter an artificial tail.
The story draws on the real Winter, a dolphin at Florida's Clearwater Marine Aquarium who plays herself on screen. It skips the cheap tearjerking and simply tells a patient story about stubbornness and a second chance, easy to watch with kids of any age. The cast also includes Ashley Judd and Kris Kristofferson.
