Synopsis
A Dog's Way Home (2019) is a family adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Charles Martin Smith, it follows a dog named Bella who is separated from her owner and sets out on a 400-mile trek to find her way back.
Young vet student Lucas adopts Bella as a stray pup, but a Denver city ordinance bans her breed inside the limits. To keep her safe, the family boards her far out of town, and Bella bolts, crossing the Colorado mountains and a hard winter to get home. Along the road she picks up an orphaned cougar cub, falls in with drifters and dodges trouble, with one word pulling her forward: home.
W. Bruce Cameron adapted his own novel here, the same author behind A Dog's Purpose, and the whole story rides on Bella's inner voice, narrated by Bryce Dallas Howard. The live cast includes Ashley Judd, Edward James Olmos and Wes Studi. At 96 minutes it is an unashamed tearjerker aimed squarely at anyone with a dog at home.
