Synopsis
The Knight Before Christmas (2019) is a Netflix holiday romance you can watch online on iFILM. A medieval English knight is yanked out of his own century by a mysterious sorceress and dropped into present-day Ohio at the height of the Christmas season.
Sir Cole is told he must complete a quest to earn his knighthood, but nobody bothered to explain what the quest actually is, and he is suddenly surrounded by cars, smartphones and shopping malls. Brooke, a high school science teacher who has given up on romance, accidentally hits him with her car and, feeling guilty, lets him stay through the holidays. From there it is a steady run of fish-out-of-water gags: a knight versus a microwave, an escalator, a snowball fight, and a slow thaw between two people who could not be more different.
Vanessa Hudgens plays Brooke, Josh Whitehouse plays the knight, and Monika Mitchell directs. The film knows exactly what it is: a cocoa-and-blanket fairy tale for one cozy evening, no grand ambitions attached. For fans of Netflix's December rom-coms, it lands just right.
