Back in high school, Chris Brander was the overweight, awkward kid hopelessly in love with his best friend Jamie. She handed him a card that said she loved him like a brother, and he fled New Jersey for good. A decade later he is back: slimmed down, smug and rich, a Los Angeles music producer babysitting a chaotic pop diva named Samantha. A grounded flight to Paris dumps him right back in his hometown, face to face with Jamie. Turns out escaping the friend zone is no easier as an adult than it was at seventeen.

Amy Smart plays Jamie, Anna Faris steals scenes as the unhinged singer, and Chris Klein shows up as the worst possible rival.
