Virus (1999) is a sci-fi creature horror you can watch online on iFILM. A small American tugboat outruns a typhoon and stumbles onto a deserted Russian research ship adrift in the Pacific. The crew smells an easy thirty-million-dollar salvage payout. What's waiting aboard already got rid of everyone else.

An alien electrical lifeform has taken over the vessel. It feeds on power, rewires the ship's systems into its own nervous network, and welds steel and human remains into mechanical killing machines. To it, people are the virus — something to be exterminated. Jamie Lee Curtis plays Kit Foster, the hard-headed navigator; William Baldwin is her crewmate; Donald Sutherland chews the scenery as the greed-poisoned captain who dragged them all into this. It's loosely based on a Dark Horse comic.

Behind the camera is John Bruno, a visual-effects veteran from Terminator 2 and The Abyss, and you can tell the animatronic monsters interest him far more than the script does. This is unapologetic B-movie stuff: rusted corridors, clanging metal, cheap jump scares. Good fun if you like old-school body horror running on a budget version of Alien.
