Synopsis

Guillaume Canet plays a king stripped of his power and left alone with himself for the first time, while Mélanie Laurent gives the queen a straight back even as the ground falls away beneath her. The camera barely steps outside — the whole story unfolds in cramped rooms where silence rings louder than the guillotine.
