Synopsis

Shattered Glass (2003) is a newsroom drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Billy Ray and starring Hayden Christensen as one of American journalism's most infamous frauds, with Peter Sarsgaard as the editor who finally pulls the thread.

Through the mid-1990s, Stephen Glass was the best read writer at The New Republic — vivid scenes, irresistible quotes, characters that practically leapt off the page. He also filed for Rolling Stone and Harper's. Nobody pushed back hard enough, and for good reason: the stories were too good to ruin. The collapse arrived sideways, through a single article fact-checked by a then-fledgling online outlet, Forbes ASAP. What unravelled was years of fabricated sources, invented events, and quotes that existed only in Glass's imagination.

Billy Ray based the script on Buzz Bissinger's 1998 Vanity Fair investigation. Chloë Sevigny, Rosario Dawson, and Hank Azaria round out a strong ensemble. Stream Shattered Glass online on iFILM — a precise, unsettling account of how trust in a publication breaks down one invented detail at a time.
