Synopsis

'71 (2014) is a British war thriller from Yann Demange that you can watch online on iFILM. A raw young soldier, Gary Hook, gets posted to patrol the streets of Belfast. One riot goes wrong, his unit bolts in panic, and he's left stranded alone deep in hostile territory.

Jack O'Connell plays a kid whose only job, suddenly, is to survive the night. The city is split clean down the middle: unionist loyalists against republicans, each side with its own gunmen, plus plainclothes operatives running their own dirty errands. Gary has no idea who to trust, and neither do we. The camera clings to his face, and the whole film burns through a single sleepless night.

Demange's debut plays as pure survival cinema set against the Troubles, refusing to lecture anyone about who was right. Watch for Barry Keoghan and Jack Lowden in early roles before their fame. If you like tension built from chase mechanics rather than speeches, this delivers. Stream '71 (2014) online on iFILM.
