Synopsis
Our Idiot Brother (2011) is Jesse Peretz's comedy-drama, ready to watch online on iFILM. Ned trusts everyone, says exactly what he thinks, and keeps wrecking his own life by being too decent. Now he's crashing with all three of his sisters.
Paul Rudd plays a guy who sold weed to a uniformed cop because the officer seemed to be having a rough day. Fresh out of jail, homeless and missing his dog Willie Nelson, Ned bounces from one sister's couch to the next. There's ambitious journalist Miranda (Elizabeth Banks), guarded Natalie (Zooey Deschanel) hiding things from her partner, and Liz (Emily Mortimer), whose marriage to a smug documentarian is quietly falling apart. Wherever Ned lands, his blunt honesty pries loose the secrets they've all been sitting on.
It's a low-key indie comedy stacked with familiar faces: Steve Coogan, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott, Kathryn Hahn. Rudd carries the whole thing on pure warmth, playing the one man who refuses to lie. Easy, gentle watching for an undemanding night. Stream Our Idiot Brother online on iFILM.
