Sandy Wexler

Sandy Wexler (2017) is Steven Brill's comedy starring Adam Sandler, and you can watch it online on iFILM. In early-nineties Los Angeles, a frantic, goofy, but fiercely loyal talent manager looks after a roster of acts who can barely book a gig, until he stumbles onto a client with real ability.

He meets singer Courtney Clarke (Jennifer Hudson) at an amusement park, and her voice is finally the break that could lift his sputtering career. The catch: Sandy falls for his own client, and his jittery, can't-stop-talking nature keeps threatening to wreck the whole thing. Around him swirls a crowd of misfits played by Kevin James, Nick Swardson, Terry Crews and Rob Schneider, plus a parade of real-life cameos from Quincy Jones to "Weird Al" Yankovic.

Sandler builds the part out of a raspy voice and constant stammering, and the humor is deliberately broad. That's his signature mode, and it won't land for everyone.
