Synopsis
Kickboxer: Vengeance (2016) is John Stockwell's martial-arts actioner, ready to watch online on iFILM. A reboot of the 1989 cult fighter, it sends one brother to Thailand to settle a Muay Thai debt in blood.
Kurt Sloane has always lived behind his older brother Eric, the natural champion of their Venice, California fighting family. After Eric takes a paid bout against the brutal Tong Po and doesn't survive it, Kurt is left with nothing but a vow he can't keep on his own. Master Durand takes him in and grinds him down through punishing, almost cruel training until something harder than skill surfaces. Alain Moussi plays Kurt, Dave Bautista is the wall standing in his way, and Jean-Claude Van Damme — the original's star — switches sides to coach.
This is a lean, no-frills fight movie built for the choreography, not the dialogue. The cast is stacked with real MMA names: Gina Carano, Georges St-Pierre and Cain Velasquez all throw down.
