Turistas

Turistas (2006) is John Stockwell's survival horror-thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. A handful of young backpackers are chasing beaches and cheap thrills across Brazil when their bus skids off a mountain road and strands them deep in the backcountry.

Stuck on the coast, the group stumbles onto a postcard beach, free drinks, and friendly locals happy to lead them to a hidden jungle bar. They wake up robbed, drugged, and missing their passports. The long trek toward help turns into a trap: behind all that hospitality sits an underground clinic that harvests organs from clueless foreigners. Josh Duhamel, Melissa George, and Olivia Wilde play travelers who learn the hard way which of them walks out of the rainforest.

Stockwell shot on location in Brazil, and the jungle does real work here, all wet heat and murky water, including a breath-holding dive through a flooded cave system. It's a blunt entry in the mid-2000s travel-horror wave that ran alongside Hostel, trading jump scares for the dread of being somewhere with no way home.
