The film won three Academy Awards — for editing, sound, and John Williams' score, two notes of which remain among the most recognizable in cinema history. Spielberg himself admitted the shoot was chaos: the mechanical shark broke down daily, forcing him to build suspense through suggestion rather than spectacle.
