Synopsis
Fahrenheit 11/9 (2018) is Michael Moore's documentary, available to watch online on iFILM. The title points to the early hours of November 9, 2016, when Donald Trump won the election. Moore frames the whole film around two blunt questions: how did America get here, and how does it get out?
The movie roams well past the campaign spectacle. Moore detours into his hometown of Flint, Michigan, where residents drank lead-poisoned water for years, and ties that local disaster to national power. Along the way you meet Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and the Parkland students who walked out of class and shook the country. Republicans aren't the only targets, either; Moore jabs hard at the Democratic establishment too.
This is the ninth feature from the director of Bowling for Columbine and Fahrenheit 9/11, and his fingerprints are everywhere: sardonic editing, a personal voiceover, provocation that pushes right up to the line. It suits viewers who want an openly partisan argument rather than a balanced report. Stream Fahrenheit 11/9 (2018) online on iFILM.
