Synopsis
Bowling for Columbine (2002) is Michael Moore's Oscar-winning documentary you can watch online on iFILM. Shot on a $4 million budget, the 120-minute film asks one blunt question: why does the United States bury so many more of its citizens to gun violence than any other wealthy country?
Moore starts at Columbine High School and keeps pulling the lens wider. He sits across from NRA president Charlton Heston, talks to Marilyn Manson about media scapegoating, and gets Matt Stone on record about growing up in Littleton, Colorado. The film avoids a tidy verdict. Each answer Moore finds opens two more questions, which is exactly the point — the discomfort is the argument.
Made for Dog Eat Dog Films and released through United Artists, the picture grossed over $35 million worldwide and took the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 2003 Oscars. Stream Bowling for Columbine online on iFILM.
