Synopsis
The Accidental Husband (2008) is Griffin Dunne's romantic comedy, free to watch online on iFILM. A radio host who built a career telling women to dump the wrong men discovers she's secretly married to one of them.
Emma (Uma Thurman) runs a hit love-advice show and is about to marry Richard (Colin Firth), her tidy, perfect publisher. Then, days before the wedding, the paperwork says she's already the wife of a firefighter named Patrick (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). It's no clerical error. Patrick rigged the whole thing on purpose, payback because Emma's on-air advice talked his fiancée out of marrying him. The plan was simple: rattle the smug radio expert, then quietly divorce. And then, as the genre demands, he starts falling for her.
The story rides familiar rails with no real surprises, and reviewers weren't kind to it. What keeps it afloat is the trio: Thurman is sharp as prim composure cracking apart, Morgan brings the charm, and Firth does what nobody does better.
