Synopsis
Wyatt Earp (1994) is a sprawling Western you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Lawrence Kasdan. Kevin Costner takes the title role of the West's most storied lawman, traced from his Kansas boyhood all the way to the gunfight that fixed his name in legend.
At well over three hours, the film follows Earp's whole arc: the death of his first wife, restless drifting, buffalo-hunting years, and his marshal days in Wichita and Dodge City. By the time the story reaches Tombstone, a clan has gathered around him — his brothers and the consumptive gambler Doc Holliday, played with sly, sickly charm by Dennis Quaid, who dropped some 40 pounds for the part. It builds toward the brief, brutal showdown at the O.K. Corral against the Clanton and McLaury gangs. Gene Hackman, Michael Madsen, Bill Pullman and Isabella Rossellini fill out the deep cast.
Released the same year as the leaner Tombstone, it lost the box-office race but answered with scale and an unvarnished portrait of its hero — Costner's Earp is hard, stubborn and not always easy to like. This one rewards patience: it's a slow family saga more than a shoot-em-up. Stream Wyatt Earp (1994) online on iFILM.
