What follows is an orphanage run by a strict Mother Superior whose harsh discipline only deepens the damage. Grown-up Billy, played by Robert Brian Wilson, lands a job at a toy store, and things hold together right up until the day he's told to put on the Santa costume for shoppers. The old trauma snaps loose, and a hatchet-wielding Saint Nick starts working his way through town. Horror regular Linnea Quigley turns up in a small early role.

Charles E. Sellier Jr.'s film triggered a real uproar in 1984: furious parents pushed it out of theaters, which only cemented its cult reputation.
