Synopsis

Truth (2015) is James Vanderbilt's newsroom drama, available to watch online on iFILM, about the story that ended one of television's biggest careers. Cate Blanchett stars as CBS producer Mary Mapes, chasing a report she's certain will define the 2004 election.

Her 60 Minutes team airs a piece claiming a young George W. Bush used family connections to slip into the National Guard and dodge Vietnam. The reporting leans on a stack of documents pulled from a military archive. Then the paper trail cracks: typography experts question the memos, sources walk back their accounts, and the network turns the investigation on its own journalists. Robert Redford plays anchor Dan Rather, whose four decades on air suddenly hang by a thread.

Adapted from Mapes' own memoir, the film tracks how a single sourcing slip can sink an entire story. Blanchett carries nearly every scene — stubborn, sharp, and watching her ground give way. Fans of newsroom pictures like Spotlight will find plenty here. Stream Truth (2015) online on iFILM.
