Come Sunday

"Come Sunday" (2018) is a drama based on a true story you can watch online on iFILM. Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Carlton Pearson — one of the most prominent evangelical pastors in 1990s America, a man who filled arenas in Tulsa, shared stages with presidents, and mentored by Oral Roberts. Then he told his congregation that hell doesn't exist and watched everything collapse.

Pearson's position, which he called the "Gospel of Inclusion," cost him his megachurch, his denomination's standing, and most of his relationships. Martin Sheen plays Oral Roberts; Danny Glover and LaKeith Stanfield appear in supporting roles. Director Joshua Marston keeps the camera close — this is not a docudrama about institutions, it's a portrait of a man who couldn't un-believe what he believed.
