Synopsis

A Shot in the Dark (1964) is a detective comedy by Blake Edwards you can watch online on iFILM. It's the second outing for bumbling Inspector Jacques Clouseau, and plenty of fans rate it the sharpest of the lot. Peter Sellers stars.

Maid Maria Gambrelli is caught beside a dead lover with every clue pointing her way: lipstick on his shirt, her fingerprints on the gun, her perfume on the pillow. Clouseau, hopelessly besotted, springs her from custody and tails her around Paris, certain of her innocence. Trouble is, the bodies keep piling up and Maria is always nearby. Meanwhile his boss, Commissioner Dreyfus (Herbert Lom), watches the chaos and feels his own sanity slipping, one twitch at a time.

Elke Sommer plays the irresistible suspect and George Sanders the lord of the manor. This is the film that gave the franchise Cato, Clouseau's karate-happy manservant, and Dreyfus's famous eye spasm. If you like your slapstick old-school, with a wrecked billiard room and a detour through a nudist colony, settle in. Stream A Shot in the Dark (1964) online on iFILM.
