Resident Alien (2021) is a sci-fi comedy you can watch online on iFILM. An alien crash-lands over snowy Colorado, kills the local physician Harry Vanderspeigle and slips into his face to buy time for his mission — wiping out the human race.

The snag: someone murdered the real doctor, and the fake Harry is promptly asked to help solve the killing. Alan Tudyk plays the extraterrestrial as a creature learning humanity by trial and error, baffled by friendship, contemptuous of small human habits, yet slowly hooked on the town of Patience. Then it gets thornier — the one person who can see his true reptilian shape is a nine-year-old boy, and the kid won't keep quiet.

Adapted from the Dark Horse comic and airing on Syfy, the series even put Tudyk himself behind the camera for an episode. It is a rare trick: a story about a cold-blooded would-be exterminator that turns warm and genuinely funny, carried by Tudyk being creepy and charming in the same breath.
