Star Trek (Seasons 1–3)
To boldly go where no man has gone before
Synopsis
Star Trek (1966–1969) is the NBC science fiction series you can watch online on iFILM — three seasons, 79 episodes, and the foundation for one of the longest-running franchises in television history.
The USS Enterprise is on a five-year deep space assignment somewhere in the 2260s. Captain James T. Kirk, played by William Shatner, makes fast decisions and lives with the consequences. His first officer Spock — Leonard Nimoy — argues for pure logic every time Kirk runs on instinct. Dr. Leonard McCoy argues back at both of them. Creator Gene Roddenberry built the show around that three-way tension, and it never gets old.
The series landed in 1966, at the height of Cold War anxiety, and used space exploration as cover for storylines about racial equality, nuclear deterrence, and what it means to meet something genuinely alien. Cancelled after three seasons, it refused to stay gone: six feature films and eight spinoff series followed, and the debate over which is the best episode still fills forums today.
