About

Synopsis

Miss Potter (2006) is Chris Noonan's biographical drama, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Renée Zellweger plays Beatrix Potter, the woman behind Peter Rabbit.

Turn-of-the-century London expected a well-bred young woman to marry well and little else. Beatrix had other plans: she painted watercolour animals and carried her little stories from one publisher to the next. A small firm finally gambles on The Tale of Peter Rabbit, and her editor Norman Warne (Ewan McGregor) becomes far more than a business partner — to the quiet horror of her parents. Emily Watson plays Norman's sister Millie, Beatrix's first real friend.

What makes the film work is how ordinary it lets her be: stubborn, a bit odd, drawing mostly to please herself. Zellweger keeps it understated, and that restraint is exactly why it lands. A gentle pick for a slow evening if you like period pieces built on real lives. Stream Miss Potter (2006) online on iFILM.
