The Call of the Wild

The Call of the Wild (2020) is a family adventure drama from director Chris Sanders that you can watch online on iFILM. Harrison Ford stars, but the real lead is a giant sled dog named Buck.

Buck starts out fat and pampered on a California estate. Then thieves snatch him and ship him north to the frozen Yukon, right as the 1890s Gold Rush is roaring. He joins a mail-carrying sled team as the clumsy new recruit, then earns his way to lead dog. When he crosses paths with the worn-down prospector John Thornton, played by Ford, the bond reshapes both of them. Dan Stevens, Omar Sy and Karen Gillan fill out the trail.

The production never put real huskies in the snow — Buck and the pack are computer-generated, with actor Terry Notari doing the on-set movement work behind the dog.
