Thinner

Thinner (1996) is a horror film from a Stephen King novel that you can watch online on iFILM. Tom Holland directs, and Robert John Burke stars as Billy Halleck, an overweight lawyer who kills an old Romani woman with his car and walks free thanks to friends in the courtroom.

The reckoning takes another form. The dead woman's father brushes Billy's cheek and whispers a single word: "Thinner." After that, the pounds start falling off and never stop. Week by week Billy wastes away toward death, and no doctor can explain it. Out of options, he leans on a mobster client, played by Joe Mantegna, to muscle the old man into lifting the curse.

King reportedly liked this adaptation, and the wasting-body makeup came from effects veteran Greg Cannom. It plays as a nasty little fable about getting away with things, and the ending bites hard. The tagline says it all: let the curse fit the crime. Stream Thinner (1996) online on iFILM.
