Synopsis
Barry (2018–2023) is HBO's crime tragicomedy you can watch online on iFILM. Barry Berkman, a hollowed-out Marine turned contract killer, travels to Los Angeles for a hit and wanders, almost by accident, into a low-rent acting class.
Surrounded by clumsy monologues and needy theater kids, he feels something he hasn't in years. Barry wants out of the killing and into acting — but nobody lets a hitman just retire. His handler Fuches keeps reeling him back, a Chechen mob crew fronted by the relentlessly upbeat NoHo Hank scrambles his plans, and his actress girlfriend Sally has no idea who he really is. Bill Hader stars as Barry and directs most of the run; Henry Winkler plays vain acting guru Gene Cousineau, Anthony Carrigan is the lovable gangster NoHo Hank, and Sarah Goldberg is Sally.
Four seasons, thirty-two episodes, and the story is finished. The show pulled in several Emmys, including wins for Hader and Winkler, and drifts further from comedy into cold dread with each season.
