The Silencing

The Silencing (2020) is a crime thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Rayburn Swanson, a reformed hunter, has walled himself off inside a wildlife sanctuary. Then a young woman's body shows up in the surrounding woods, killed in a way he recognizes all too well.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays a man hollowed out by loss. His own daughter vanished years earlier, and the killer's method tears the wound back open. He teams up with Sheriff Alice Gustafson (Annabelle Wallis) to chase a predator who treats people like game, releasing them into the forest and running them down. Belgian director Robin Pront shoots it all in the cold, soaked grey of the Canadian backcountry, where the fog does as much work as any villain.

This is a lean one, 93 minutes, a clean setup, hunter against hunter. The cast is small, but Coster-Waldau carries it on grim focus and barely any dialogue. It suits anyone who likes a stripped-down woodland manhunt over a twisty plot. Stream The Silencing (2020) online on iFILM.
