Just Cause

Just Cause (1995) is a Southern legal thriller you can watch online on iFILM, starring Sean Connery as a Harvard law professor pulled back into the courtroom after twenty-five years. His mission: save a young Black man on Florida's death row, convicted of a child's brutal murder.

Paul Armstrong believes Bobby Earl (Blair Underwood) is innocent and starts pulling the case apart thread by thread. Standing in his way is detective Tanner Brown (Laurence Fishburne), who beat the confession out of his suspect, while death-row inmate Blair Sullivan (Ed Harris) whispers clues from his cell. Directed by Arne Glimcher from John Katzenbach's novel, the film lives or dies on its late twist rather than its procedure, so fans of nineties courtroom thrillers with a sting in the tail will feel at home.
