Synopsis
Pokémon the Movie 2000 (1999) is a feature-length anime adventure you can watch online on iFILM. An old prophecy comes true when one collector's greed throws the elements out of balance and pushes the planet toward disaster.
A wealthy hunter named Lawrence III goes after the legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, hoping to draw out the mysterious Lugia. Disturb even one of them and nature turns violent — storms, floods, fire and ice and lightning crashing together. Legend says only a chosen trainer can set things right, and that role lands on Ash Ketchum, who races with his friends to gather three elemental treasures before the world tears itself apart.
This is the franchise's second theatrical outing, directed by Kunihiko Yuyama at the height of turn-of-the-century Pokémania. The story is simpler than the show and leans on big set-pieces with the legendary trio, while Lugia's appearance and the soaring finale stuck with a generation of kids.
