Synopsis
Man of Tai Chi (2013) is a martial-arts action film you can watch online on iFILM. It marks Keanu Reeves' directing debut, and he also plays the villain pulling the strings.
Beijing courier Chen Lin-Hu, nicknamed Tiger, trains in the soft, near-meditative discipline of tai chi, then turns it into a weapon inside the ring. A shadowy operator named Donaka Mark, played by Reeves, spots him and lures him into an underground fight club where wealthy clients pay to watch no-rules bouts streamed live. Tiger needs the cash badly, and with every win a rage he once feared starts to surface. The real question is whether anything of the gentle student survives once the matches turn lethal.
Fight choreography comes from the legendary Yuen Woo-ping, and it shows in every strike. Tiger Chen, a stunt double from The Matrix, steps into the lead for the first time.
