Mulan

Mulan (2020) is Walt Disney Pictures' live-action fantasy action film you can watch online on iFILM. Director Niki Caro shot on location across China and New Zealand, trading animation for real landscapes and wire-work choreography. Liu Yifei plays Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of a celebrated warrior who disguises herself as a man and enlists in the Imperial Army under a false name rather than send her ailing father off to die.

The threat comes from Böri Khan — Jason Scott Lee — a warlord from the northern steppe backed by the shape-shifting witch Xian Niang, played by Gong Li in the film's most charged performance. Donnie Yen commands the training camp where Mulan must prove herself without anyone knowing who she is, while Jet Li plays the Emperor whose life hangs in the balance. The 115-minute runtime skips the songs of the 1998 animated version and leans into combat sequences that owe more to wuxia tradition than Disney musicals.
